BYD-MMC, Pakistan reaches 10,000-vehicle milestone

KARACHI: BYD-MMC, Pakistan, on Friday announced that it has reached a milestone of 10, 000 vehicles, marking the fastest ramp-up by a new-entrant New Energy Vehicle (NEV) brand in the country’s automotive history. BYD entered Pakistan with the BYD Atto 3 and BYD Seal and has since expanded its portfolio to five models. The line-up now also includes the Atto 2, Pakistan’s top-selling EV, the Sealion 7, and the Shark 6, the country’s first plug-in hybrid (PHEV) pickup, extending new energy mobility across a wider range of consumer needs and lifestyles. “Pakistan has quickly become an important market in BYD’s global journey, and the trust consumers have shown in our brand is particularly significant to us, ” said Liu Xueliang, Vice President of BYD Co. Ltd. and General Manager of BYD Asia Pacific Auto Sales Division. Aly Khan, CEO MMC said the significance of 10, 000 vehicles goes well beyond the number itself, reflecting the progress MMC has made in building the foundations for new energy mobility in Pakistan. “MMC is preparing to launch Pakistan’s first and largest NEV assembly facility, marking a new chapter in our commitment to the future of mobility in Pakistan, ” he added.
