KARACHI: Zindigi, powered by JS Bank, has partnered with UK-based ‘nsave’ to make receiving international remittances faster, simpler, and more affordable for freelancers and individuals in Pakistan. The partnership marks another milestone in Zindigi’s mission to build a borderless banking experience by connecting Pakistan with the global financial ecosystem. In line with the State Bank of Pakistan’s (SBP) efforts to promote inward international remittances for individuals and freelancers, this initiative is set to become a significant step in expanding financial inclusion and supporting the country’s digital economy. This also marks the latest step in nsave’s ongoing contribution to the Pakistani ecosystem as the company builds long-term infrastructure to help the country’s freelancers and remote workers grow on a global stage. nsave enables Pakistanis to receive funds from abroad in USD for free and move it into their Zindigi account at no cost, converted at the best PKR rate available in the market. For a freelancer paid by an overseas client, that means the full amount arrives without transfer fees and poor exchange rates that typically erode cross-border income by 5-10 percent. As part of the initial phase, users will soon be able to receive international transfers directly into their local Zindigi accounts within minutes, one of the fastest and most affordable ways to access funds sent from abroad. Because funds are received in USD and converted at a market-leading PKR rate, users keep more of every payment, with no fee to receive and no fee to transfer into Zindigi. The partnership also lays the foundation for future innovations aimed at Pakistan’s rapidly growing freelancer community. In the next phase, users will be able to seamlessly create and link nsave accounts through the Zindigi app, enabling easier access to international banking services and making it even simpler for freelancers to receive payments from clients around the world. Freelancers and remote workers using nsave through Zindigi will also gain access to additional services – including investments in the US stock market, a EUR/GBP account, and an international USD card – enabling them to grow their potential without limits. “At Zindigi, we believe financial inclusion is not just about access to banking; it is about unlocking opportunities for people to grow, earn, and compete globally, ” said Noman Azhar, Chief Officer, Zindigi. He said that Pakistan is home to one of the world’s largest and most talented freelancer communities, yet many continue to face unnecessary barriers and high costs when receiving payments from abroad. “Through our partnership with nsave, we are removing those barriers and creating a more affordable, seamless, and accessible financial ecosystem”, he added. “nsave’s mission has always been bigger than payments. Across underserved economies, hardworking people can move money, but they can’t preserve its value, and savings that quietly erode are opportunities lost, “ said Amer Baroudi, Co-Founder of nsave. When people can protect the value of what they earn, they spend more, invest more, and take bigger risks, they start businesses, create jobs, and support their families, he added.
