IN NUMBERS 856, 410 beneficiaries* reached in June 2026 36. 3 million people are food insecure, out of which 2. 1 million are in IPC4 and 5 Phases 1, 135 mt food assistance distributed* in June 2026 US$6. 5m distributed through cashbased transfers* in June 2026 US$ 91. 6 million funding gap from July to December 2026 *Preliminary figures pending final distribution reports KEY HIGHLIGHTS • Conflict, displacement and restricted access to farmland continue to drive food insecurity outcomes across northern Nigeria during the lean season as irregular rainfall disrupts agricultural production and raises concerns • An OCHA-led inter-sector severity classification update, informed by Cadre Harmonisé findings and other multi-sector data to guide humanitarian prioritization has identified 15 LGAs as Severity Level 4. • WFP assistance reached more people in June compared to the previous month, providing nutrition-integrated food assistance and strengthening resilience and food systems.
