IOM activities IOM continued supporting coordination and management of key transitory camps in La Guaira, including Polideportivo José María Vargas, Estadio César Nieves and Playa Grande. Support focused on site improvements, service coordination, registration, connectivity, community engagement, protection referrals and essential item distributions, including assistance to 360 families at Estadio César Nieves and surrounding communities. On 6 July, IOM-supported health and MHPSS teams provided 353 medical and psychosocial consultations across the three sites. IOM also continued supporting camp mapping and registration to inform operational planning, while strengthening protection activities, legal orientation, referrals and awareness on protection risks in emergencies. IOM planned response IOM will continue prioritizing temporary accommodation, site coordination and management, WASH, health and MHPSS, protection, registration, data and needs assessments. Planned actions include strengthening safe and accountable services in transitory camps, expanding medical and psychosocial support, improving WASH and protection referrals, and generating timely data to guide targeted assistance. Additional funding would enable IOM to scale up emergency accommodation, essential items, WASH, protection, health and MHPSS services, while improving conditions in transitory camps and affected communities.
