KARACHI: The Pakistan Stock Brokers Association (PSBA) held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Tuesday and elected a new Board/Executive Committee, with members also approving the association’s audited financial statements for 2025-26 and other resolutions placed before the meeting. The AGM was chaired by outgoing PSBA Chairman Munir Khanani, and all resolutions submitted to the members were adopted. Members approved the audited financial statements and reports for the year ended June 30, 2026, along with the appointment of M. Saleem Associates as auditor for 2027. The meeting also approved the minutes of the fifth AGM and the PSBA Annual Report 2026. The key development at the meeting was the election of new directors and Executive Committee members. According to the Election Commission of PSBA, Muhammad Yasir Mahmoud was elected Chairman, while Abdus Samad Salim was elected Senior Vice-Chairman and Muhammad Sharif Vice Chairman. The newly elected Directors/Executive Committee members include Fawad Yusuf, Habib Ullah Sheikh, Jahanzeb Mirza, Malik Dil Awayz Ahmed, Muhammad Amin Yousuf, Noman and Yasir Yaqoob. The elections were conducted under the rules and regulations of the Directorate General of Trade Organisations (DGTO) and supervised by the PSBA Election Commission, according to the association. In his concluding remarks following the election, newly elected Chairman Dr Yasir Mahmoud called for continued focus on innovation, regulatory alignment and member advocacy. He said the incoming board would engage with regulatory authorities and tax bodies to work towards creating a more conducive operating environment for brokers and investors. The AGM concluded with a vote of thanks to the outgoing directors for their services, while the incoming board reiterated its commitment to the objectives and values of the association.
