Petrol price cut by 50 paise, HSD’s by 19 paise

ISLAMABAD: Despite reduction in international oil prices, the Petroleum Division and the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) on Thursday announced a marginal reduction in domestic fuel prices for August 28. Ex-depot price of petrol has been reduced by 50 paise per litre. Meanwhile, the rate of high-speed diesel (HSD) has also been cut by 19 paise per litre. Under the revised rates, petrol will be available at Rs342. 60 per litre instead of Rs343. 10 per litre, while HSD will be priced at Rs371. 61 per litre. Ogra is updating daily petroleum prices on its website to improve transparency and allow changes in international oil prices to be passed on to consumers more quickly. Dealer margins are fixed at Rs9. 98 per litre on the both products, Petroleum Levy on both the products is Rs80 per litre each. Customs duty has been maintained at Rs20. 65 per litre for petrol and Rs15. 68 per litre for HSD. Climate Support Levy (CSL) has been held steady at Rs5 per litre for both fuels. Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) margins remain unchanged at Rs7. 87 across both products. Copyright Business Recorder, 2026
