This Situation Report provides an update on the humanitarian situation following the flash floods that struck Nepal on 26 August 2026. Since the activation of the Logistics & Telecommunications Cluster (LTC) 1 on 02 September, the LTC Telecoms Area has supported humanitarian partners through telecommunications coordination, assessments, connectivity services and information management. The report highlights the latest situation, telecommunications impacts and LTC Telecoms activities. Summary Points • The 26 August flash floods have caused widespread humanitarian impacts across northern Nepal, with more than 1, 250 fatalities, thousands of people still missing and over 84, 000 people requiring humanitarian assistance as response efforts transition from search and rescue to sustained humanitarian support. • Telecommunications services have been restored on an emergency basis across the affected areas, with priority mobile network sites returned to service through temporary power solutions. Some locations remain dependent on generators until electricity and fibre connectivity are fully restored. • Following the activation of the LTC on 02 September, the LTC Telecoms Area is supporting the response through telecommunications coordination, assessments, connectivity planning, information management and the deployment of an LTC Telecoms Coordinator to Nepal.
