Medical team completes Imran Khan’s check-up at Adiala Jail

A special medical team completed a detailed medical examination of former prime minister and PTI founder Imran Khan in Adiala Jail, according to jail sources on Sunday. The team, comprising doctors from the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) and Shifa Eye Hospital, visited the jail to examine the 73-year-old former prime minister amid claims about his health. The medical team was led by PIMS doctor Arif Khan and was assisted by medical staff from the Adiala Jail hospital. According to the jail sources, Khan underwent a comprehensive medical examination, including checks of his blood pressure, cholesterol and eyesight, along with other assessments. The medical team left the jail after completing the examination, the sources said. Khan’s medical check-up comes as concerns over his health continue to circulate among his family and party ranks, while PTI prepares for a potential political confrontation in Islamabad. The party has insisted that its September 27 long march will go ahead despite a recent Islamabad High Court ruling. PTI Central Information Secretary Sheikh Waqas Akram has said the party will challenge the high court’s decision before the Supreme Court and other higher judicial forums. He also criticised Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi’s remarks regarding the planned protest, questioning whether government ministers should issue warnings to the opposition involving the possible use of force or firing.
