Mahnoor Safdar, the daughter of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, is set to marry today (Saturday), with her nikah scheduled to be held at the family residence in Jati Umra near Lahore at 5pm. According to family sources, the ceremony will be a private and limited gathering. According to the sources, groom Azaan Jabbar is the son of prominent businessman Jabbar Khalid. The sources said that Jabbar Khalid is associated with the flour milling business and is a well-known name in business circles. Further details about the groom and his family have not been officially disclosed. Reports said members of the Sharif family, close relatives and a select group of friends are expected to attend the nikah. Bride’s father Muhammad Safdar has arrived in Lahore to attend the ceremony, while Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is also expected to attend. PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif and his two sons, Hassan Nawaz and Hussain Nawaz, are already in Lahore to participate in the ceremony. Some media reports have put the expected number of guests at around 100, while the family has opted to keep the ceremony private. Mahnoor is the youngest daughter of Maryam Nawaz and retired Captain Muhammad Safdar. She has generally remained away from the media spotlight and recently completed her studies at SOAS University of London. Maryam Nawaz recently travelled to London to attend her daughter’s graduation ceremony, where she expressed her happiness over Mahnoor’s academic achievement.
