KP govt makes budgetary allocations for WCCIPD

PESHAWAR: Advisor to KP CM on Finance, Muzammil Aslam has announced that necessary budgetary allocations and procedures have been completed for several important initiatives. He was addressing women entrepreneurs of the Women Chamber of Commerce and Industries (WCCI Peshawar Division (WCCIPD). The initiatives include the allocation of Rs 5 million for the up-gradation and furnishing of the Women Chamber, Rs 50 million Endowment Fund for women entrepreneurs, Interest-rate subsidy to facilitate access to affordable finance and establishment of Women Incubation Centre at the Women Chamber to support businesses from ideas and incubation to skills, finance, market access, and growth. The Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Peshawar Division (WCCIPD), welcomes the provincial government’s support for key proposals put forward by the Chamber to strengthen the ecosystem for women-led businesses across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Speaking on the occasion, Qurat Ul Ain, President WCCIPD, emphasized the Chamber’s evolving role in women’s economic empowerment, policy advocacy, business networking, market linkages, capacity building, and institutional facilitation. Founder President Sajida Zulfiqar highlighted the challenges and opportunities surrounding women entrepreneurs, industrial development, and the potential of underutilized public and institutional assets to support women-led economic activity. Shamama Arbab also shared perspectives on sector-specific opportunities, particularly in food processing, agriculture-related enterprises, value addition, and emerging sectors where women can contribute more strongly to the provincial economy. WCCIPD appreciates the provincial government’s recognition of these priorities and looks forward to working with relevant departments to translate these initiatives into measurable opportunities, stronger enterprises, employment, investment, and inclusive economic growth for women across KP.
