KARACHI: The metropolis sizzled in hot and humid weather on Sunday as the temperature hit 40. 3 Celsius, the highest recorded in the city this September, the Met Office said. Elsewhere in Sindh, the highest temperature of 42 Celsius was recorded in Shaheed Benazirabad, followed by 41. 5 Celsius each in Chhor and Mithi and 41 Celsius in Mirpurkhas. Rohri recorded 39 Celsius. The monsoon low over South Chhattisgarh has moved over Madhya Pradesh and adjoining areas and is likely to move west-northwestward. The maximum temperature is likely to remain between 37 and 39 Celsius, while humidity is expected at 75-85 percent. On Tuesday, the weather is likely to remain hot and humid, with chances of thunderstorm and light rain.
