Govt keeps petrol, diesel prices unchanged for July 26-27

The government kept the prices of petrol and high-speed diesel (HSD) unchanged for July 26 and 27, maintaining them at Rs335. 18 and Rs383. 46 per litre, respectively. “In continuation of the press release issued on July 24, 2026, it is clarified that the following ex-depot prices of petroleum products for July 25, 2026, shall remain unchanged for July 26 and 27, 2026, due to non-publication of Platts prices on weekend, ” the Petroleum Division said. On Friday, the price of Motor Spirit (petrol) was increased by Rs3. 66 per litre to Rs335. 18 from Rs331. 52 per litre for July 25 (Saturday). Similarly, the price of HSD was raised by Rs4. 80 per litre to Rs383. 46 from Rs378. 66 per litre. Internationally, crude oil futures prices were more than 4% lower on Friday after sources said that China had initiated a push to resume stalled peace talks between the United States and Iran, but remained on track for hefty weekly gains. Both Brent and US West Texas Intermediate crude rallied during the week as the US and Iran exchanged missile strikes, traffic through the Strait of Hormuz fell to a trickle and Yemen’s Houthis attacked shipping in the Red Sea.
