LAHORE: A total of 292, 044 flour bags (10kg equivalent) were supplied to the Lahore market on Wednesday — including 21, 143 bags of 10kg, 18, 074 bags of 20kg, and 156, 502 bags of 15kg — reflecting a strong and stable supply position, Director General Food Punjab Amjad Hafeez said. He maintained that the supply of flour across the province remains satisfactory and abundant, with no reports of shortages, including in Lahore. The DG Food while releasing the figures on Thursday noted that a visible decline in demand, coupled with the arrival of the new wheat crop in the market, has further improved the supply situation. “The market is functioning smoothly under the demand and supply mechanism, ” he added.
