The emergency continues to have a large-scale, multisectoral humanitarian impact. More than 406, 000 people (193, 011 families) have been affected by the earthquake, with the highest concentrations in Risaralda, Valle del Cauca, Chocó, Quindío and Caldas. In addition to the loss of life, significant damage has been reported to community, health and education infrastructure, water systems and access roads, further increasing humanitarian assistance and recovery needs. The national and local response continues to scale up to address critical needs. National and local authorities continue to prioritize physical and mental health services, water and sanitation, humanitarian assistance and the management of temporary shelters. These efforts are complemented by financial relief measures for affected families and technical support for the assessment and recovery of damaged infrastructure. The humanitarian community and donors are strengthening the response, although significant funding gaps remain. At least 25 humanitarian organizations have provided assistance to nearly 72, 000 people across 36 affected municipalities, while donors have mobilized more than US$40 million and the Central Emergency Response Fund (CERF) has allocated US$5 million for life-saving activities. However, the 2026 Humanitarian Response Plan Addendum requires additional funding to address humanitarian needs through the end of the year.
