At least 40 incidents of various crimes reported in Islamabad in one week

ISLAMABAD: At least 40 incidents of crime, including carjacking, robberies, murder, and mobile phone and cash snatching at gunpoint, were reported to different police stations in the capital city during the last week. According to data collected by Business Recorder, over 22 carjacking cases, six incidents of street crime (mobile phone and cash snatching), 10 robberies, two dacoity cases and one case of murder were registered at various police stations in the city. The crime data shows that during the last week, criminal gangs were mostly active within the jurisdictions of Tarnol, Aabpara, Industrial Area, Sabzi Mandi, Kohsar, Margalla and Lohi Bheer police stations. During the same period, auto thieves stole four motorbikes from the limits of Aabpara police station, two motorbikes from the jurisdiction of Ramana police station, another two motorbikes from the jurisdiction of Tarnol police station, two motorbikes from the limits of Khanna police station, and one each from the jurisdictions of Karachi Company, Shalimar, Golra and Humak police stations. During the last week, two cases of robbery, one case of street crime and two cases of auto theft were reported to Tarnol police station. Robbers also struck at two different locations, and auto thieves stole one motorbike from the jurisdiction of Industrial Area police station. Another three cases, including two cases of robbery and one case of street crime were reported to Sabzi Mandi police station during the week. Furthermore, during the last week, two cases of robbery were reported to Margalla, another two cases were registered at Koral police station, and one case of murder and one case of auto theft were reported to Humak police station.
