Air valve repaired, water supply restored to many areas

KARACHI: The Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation (KWSW) has completed emergency repair work on a leaking air valve on a major water supply line in Ghazi Goth, Scheme 33, restoring supplies from the University Reservoir to several parts of the city. According to a KWSC spokesperson, the repair has enabled the resumption of water supply to parts of District Central, 13-D Gulshan-i-Iqbal and Gulistan-i-Jauhar. The air valve developed a leak on Wednesday night, affecting the water supply network. Following directives from KWSC Chief Executive Officer Ahmed Ali Siddiqui, the relevant teams were mobilised and reached the site promptly to undertake the emergency repair. The spokesperson said the repair was completed on an urgent basis, after which water supply from the University Reservoir was restored and distribution to the affected areas resumed.
