Highlights UNICEF supported responses to multiple disease outbreaks, including polio, measles, meningitis, yellow fever and cholera. A nationwide polio campaign vaccinated 2. 63 million children, while 46, 765 children received measles vaccines in outbreak-affected areas. Treatment was provided to 10, 287 children with severe acute malnutrition, representing 39% of the 2026 HAC target, and 39, 264 people benefited from IYCF-E and community engagement activities. Education support reached 9, 236 crisis-affected children, alongside teacher training and learning space construction. WASH interventions enabled 83, 344 people to access safe drinking water, 14, 360 to improved sanitation services, and 91, 716 to hygiene promotion activities. Child protection and GBV services reached thousands, including 10, 645 children with psychosocial support. Humanitarian needs remained critical, with 2. 3 million people requiring assistance and over 50, 000 newly displaced by violence. However, UNICEF’s 2026 HAC appeal remained 57% unfunded, leaving a US$17. 1 million funding gap and constraining life-saving assistance.
