ESAHF Mozambique 2025 Annual Report

Country: Mozambique Source: UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs Please refer to the attached file. 2025 marked an important milestone for the Eastern and Southern Africa Humanitarian Fund (ESAHF) in Mozambique as it completed its first full year of operations. Against a backdrop of escalating conflict in northern Mozambique, recurrent climate-related shocks, disease outbreaks and a challenging global funding environment, the Fund demonstrated its value as a flexible and strategic financing mechanism capable of delivering timely, locally led humanitarian assistance to people most in need. The Fund was guided by a clear vision: to place national and local actors at the centre of the humanitarian response while ensuring that resources reached communities facing the greatest humanitarian needs. Throughout the year, this vision was translated into action through direct support to national organizations operating in some of the most difficult-to-reach areas of Cabo Delgado, investments in preparedness and anticipatory action, and initiatives to strengthen the security, accountability and operational capacity of local humanitarian partners.
