Please refer to the attached file. Context Children are increasingly impacted by environmental and climate crises. “Nearly one billion girls and boys – roughly half the world’s children – live in countries at extremely high risk for the harmful effects of climate change. ”i These effects are disproportionately suffered by children experiencing conflict or displacement, with overlapping factors disrupting learning continuity and harming children’s wellbeing. To mitigate the impacts of these crises, PIN has worked with local communities and education authorities since 2021 to make education systems and structures serving crisis-affected children more climate resilient. Our programming works across the triple nexus (humanitarian aid, development assistance, and peacebuilding), covering emergency preparedness and anticipatory action approaches through first responses and early recovery.
