Country: Sudan Source: United Nations Population Fund Please refer to the attached file. Ongoing attacks on health facilities in Sudan continue to disrupt essential medical services and endanger the lives of patients and healthcare workers. Strikes on Al-Daein Teaching Hospital from 20–21 March killed 70 people and rendered the facility non-functional. As a result, women and adolescent girls in the area have been left without access to critical sexual and reproductive health (SRH) services, including emergency obstetric care. A mapping of clinical management of rape services—conducted by the SRH Working Group led by UNFPA—found that only 27 per cent of the 285 health facilities assessed across Sudan are fully functional. UNFPA is working to address the growing SRH and gender-based violence (GBV) needs of women and girls across the country. In March, UNFPA supported 83 health facilities across 16 states, reaching 62, 200 people with SRH services. UNFPA and its implementing partners also provided more than 102, 000 people with GBV prevention and response services, including psychosocial support, case management, and dignity kits. In 2026, UNFPA is appealing for US$129. 2 million to respond to critical SRH and GBV needs in Sudan. To date, approximately 29 per cent of this funding has been received, leaving a funding gap of US$92 million.
