In the Far North, non-state armed groups (NSAGs) continued their attacks, while military operations led to further civilian casualties and displacement. Concurrent cholera and Mpox outbreaks, including 1, 529 cholera cases and 41 deaths across eight health districts, are placing immense strain on fragile health systems. The security situation in the North-West and South-West regions remained volatile due to persistent “ghost town” lockdowns, attacks, abductions, and the targeting of religious personnel. Flooding in August displaced approximately 6, 232 people across Buea and Kumba, destroying more than 200 homes and disrupting SRH services. UNFPA led a rapid GBV, SRH and MHPSS needs assessment in response. Despite funding shortages, UNFPA sustained SRH and GBV services across the affected regions in August, deploying 33 midwives and 110 trained GBV specialists across 22 health facilities. This included mobile health clinics in the Far North, GBV case management and a Business Continuity Plan in the North-West and South-West, and a rapid GBV, SRH and MHPSS needs assessment following the flooding in Buea and Kumba. UNFPA urgently requires an additional US$1, 619, 014 to sustain and expand this response.
