Description The influence of Typhoon Maysak, combined with the southwest monsoon, has resulted in strong winds and heavy rainfall across several parts of Thailand. According to the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM), windstorm and flooding incidents were reported between 1 and 6 July 2026. Windstorm incidents were reported in six provinces—Ubon Ratchathani, Rayong, Chanthaburi, Trat, Satun and Krabi—affecting eight districts, 15 sub-districts and 25 villages. A total of 133 houses were damaged and three people sustained minor injuries, all in Chanthaburi Province. No fatalities have been reported. Heavy rainfall also caused flooding in Sato Sub-district, Khao Saming District, Trat Province, between 5 and 6 July 2026. Floodwaters inundated low-lying residential areas, with water depths reaching approximately 80 cm. Flooding also affected village access roads, including Village No. 1 (60 cm), the entrance to Village No. 7 (30 cm), and Tha Chang Soi and Ruen Rom Soi (20 cm), disrupting transportation. According to DDPM, the flooding directly affected 19 households, while access disruptions impacted 101 households. In total, 410 people have been affected. No injuries or fatalities have been reported in relation to the flooding. Water levels are gradually receding, and the situation is expected to return to normal within one to two days, provided that no further heavy rainfall occurs.
