Sri Lanka National Dengue Control Unit: Weekly Dengue Update, Week 26 (29th June – 5th July 2026)

DENGUE CASE REPORTING During the 27th week, 7916 suspected dengue cases were reported across 25 districts, compared to 5998 cases in the previous week, reflecting an 32% increase. The Western Province accounted for 53. 4% of total cases, with the Colombo Municipal Council (CMC) contributing 2. 9%, the rest of Colombo District 18. 3%, Gampaha District 23. 6%, and Kalutara District 8. 7%. Outside the Western Province, notable case contributions were reported from Kandy (8. 1%), Matara (7. 9%), Galle (5. 1%), Ratnapura (4. 2%), Kurunegala (3. 3%), Hambantota (2. 8%), Kegalle (2. 3%), and Puttalam (2%) (see Table 1).
