Solomon Islands NEOC National Situation Report 05 – TC Maila (15 April 2026)

Country: Solomon Islands Source: Government of Solomon Islands Please refer to the attached file. Highlights Strong wind warning issued by the Solomon Islands Meteorological Services has been cancelled at 2: 00 PM, Monday 13th April 2026. A State of Disaster has been declared by the Chairman of the National Disaster Council on Friday 10th April 2026 for Western and Choiseul Provinces. National Emergency Operations Centre (NEOC) is on Full Activation; western and Choiseul Provincial EOCs (PEOCs) for national and provincial coordination, weather updates, public messaging, and impact reporting. Widespread impacts reported: flooding, coastal inundation, infrastructure damage, disruption to transport and utilities. Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) operations centres activated in affected provinces to support disaster coordination and public safety. Government preparing emergency funding allocation under the 2026 Contingency Warrant Multi-agency support from government authorities, NGOs, international partners, and donor agencies is being coordinated through the NEOC to effectively address the ongoing situation.
