Sino-Pak friendship continues to grow stronger: Acting CG

KARACHI: Acting Chinese Consul General Feng Deheng said China-Pakistan relations have evolved into an unbreakable, all-weather strategic cooperative partnership underpinned by mutual respect, trust, and close cooperation. Addressing a seminar held at the Chinese Consulate in Karachi to mark the 105th anniversary of the Communist Party of China (CPC), Feng Deheng said that this year marks two historic milestones: the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China and the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Pakistan. He said that the journey, which began aboard the historic “Red Boat” on Nanhu Lake in Jiaxing, has today transformed into the grand vessel of Chinese modernisation. Under the leadership of the Communist Party, China has achieved extraordinary success through the New Democratic Revolution, the socialist revolution, reform and opening-up, socialist modernisation, and socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era. These achievements have enabled China to accomplish the twin miracles of rapid economic growth and long-term social stability, fundamentally transforming the lives of the Chinese people. Feng noted that China and Pakistan established formal diplomatic relations 75 years ago. Despite significant changes in regional and global circumstances over the decades, the two countries have consistently upheld the traditions of mutual respect, trust, and cooperation. As a result, China-Pakistan relations have today become an unbreakable, all-weather strategic cooperative partnership. In his welcome address, Dr Muhammad Farooq Afzal, Founding President of the Economic Diplomacy Forum, said that the world is currently undergoing profound geopolitical and geo-economic transformations. Nations now compete not only through political influence but also through trade, investment, technology, innovation, and economic partnerships. He said economic diplomacy has become one of the most effective tools for promoting national prosperity by attracting investment, expanding exports, facilitating technology transfer, strengthening industrial cooperation, and creating sustainable economic opportunities for citizens. For countries like Pakistan, he said, economic diplomacy is no longer merely an option but an essential pillar of national development. It was with this vision that the Economic Diplomacy Forum was established as an independent platform where diplomats, policymakers, business leaders, academics, and development experts can collaborate on practical strategies to strengthen Pakistan’s global economic engagement.
