LAHORE: Punjab Housing and Urban Development Minister Bilal Yasin has said that there is significant potential to increase revenue generated by horticulture agencies and thus, he directed the relevant official to digitalise the revenue collection process. Punjab Housing Secretary Noor-ul-Amin Mengal and Parks and Horticulture Agency (PHA) Director General Ahmed Usman Javed were also present in the meeting. The Minister said that 20 horticulture agencies are managing around 6, 500 acres of green areas across the province. He emphasised the need to improve the quality of nurseries and ensure better maintenance and beautification of green spaces. He also proposed replacing traditional horticulture and beautification practices with modern, machinery-based systems to improve efficiency and quality. He further said that food streets and recreational facilities would be improved, while park mapping and machinery tracking systems would also be strengthened to ensure effective management and monitoring.
