Prayer services at churches: Police on high alert across Punjab

LAHORE: Punjab Police officers and personnel remained on high alert and performed security duties very diligently during Christian prayer services at churches across the province, including Lahore. Earlier, Inspector General of Police Punjab Abdul Kareem issued directives to RPOs, DPOs, and senior police officers to further enhance security at churches. He said that supervisory officers should personally inspect the security arrangements at churches as well as other important and sensitive locations. Additional police personnel and snipers should be deployed at sensitive churches, while teams of the Dolphin Squad, Police Response Unit (PRU), and Elite Force should ensure effective patrolling around churches. IG Punjab directed that all deployed police officers and personnel should remain highly vigilant and keep a close watch on miscreant elements. He further instructed that search and sweep operations should continue around churches, Christian localities, and other sensitive locations.
