PM’s directives for Jinnah Medical Complex & Research Centre

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday directed that the under-construction Federal Government Polyclinic Phase-II Extension in G-11 be developed as the first phase of the proposed Jinnah Medical Complex and Research Centre and completed by March 2027. The decision, taken at a review meeting chaired by the PM, is aimed at making the hospital operational at the earliest and providing improved healthcare facilities to citizens. Sharif directed the authorities to take all possible measures to develop the first phase of the Jinnah Medical Complex as a modern, state-of-the-art hospital equipped with advanced and high-tech medical machinery. He said provision of healthcare facilities to the public was a top priority of the government and called for expediting reforms in the health sector. The meeting was presented with various designs and proposals for construction of the proposed Jinnah Medical Complex and Research Centre. It was also briefed on progress on the construction of the Polyclinic Phase-II Extension. The prime minister directed that third-party validation of the project should continue alongside monitoring of its progress. Minister for Health Mustafa Kamal, Power Minister Awais Leghari, Economic Affairs Ministers Ahad Cheema, along with senior government officials concerned, attended the meeting.
