Pakistan’s forex reserves rise $19m to $17.12bn

Foreign exchange reserves held by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) increased by $19 million to $17. 12 billion during the week ended Aug. 28, 2026. In its weekly reserves statement, the SBP said the country’s total liquid foreign exchange reserves stood at $22. 53 billion as of Aug. 28, 2026. Of these, commercial banks held $5. 41 billion in net foreign exchange reserves. “During the week ended on 28-Aug-2026, SBP’s FX reserves increased by US$ 19 million to US$ 17, 117. 8 million, ” the central bank said. Last week, the SBP reported that its foreign exchange reserves had increased by $17 million to $17. 10 billion during the week ended Aug. 21, 2026.
