Country: Colombia Source: ODI – Humanitarian Practice Network Pedro Niño Sequera When a small group of locally led humanitarian organisations began meeting in 2023 to discuss the localisation agenda, they could hardly have imagined that those conversations would give rise to a platform that, within a few years, would participate in national coordination bodies, mobilise resources to strengthen local leadership and be recognised as a trusted interlocutor by international agencies. Rather than merely responding to an emerging trend in the humanitarian sector, these discussions sought to address a concern that local organisations had been grappling with for years: how to move beyond implementing humanitarian responses and begin influencing the decisions that shape them.
