Led by the World Food Programme (WFP), the Logistics & Telecommunications Sector (LTS) was activated in North-East Nigeria in November 2016 in response to the protection crisis. LTS (telecoms area) Nigeria Situation Reports are issued monthly. All references to ‘LTS’ in this report refer to the telecoms area of the sector. Summary Points LTS Telecoms is expanding connectivity support for the cholera response, including planned deployment of a CrisisNet kit at Gwange 3 Primary Health Care Centre in Maiduguri and assessments for additional services in Gubio and Ngala. LTS connectivity and security communications services continue to enable humanitarian operations across north-east Nigeria, supporting 1, 046 users from 140 organizations in high-risk locations including Damasak, Monguno, Banki, and Dikwa. LTS Telecoms strengthened partner communications capacity by providing VHF radio programming support to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) and advanced training plans with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to enhance interoperability, coordination, and staff safety.
