A new security plan has been implemented around Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi from Tuesday and will remain in effect until further orders, sources said. Former prime minister and PTI founder Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi, are serving their sentences at Adiala Jail. Under the new plan, police checkpoints will be established at eight key locations around the jail, including Dahgal, Gate No. 1, Gate No. 5, Pharmaceutical Factory, Gorakhpur, a private housing society in Phase 8, Chakri and Thallian, the sources added. A total of 435 police personnel will be deployed around the jail, with personnel from the riot control unit, district police, Elite Force and Dolphin Squad assigned security duties. The sources said that petrol stations, hotels and shops along the route from Dahgal to Gorakhpur would be closed as part of the security measures. Authorities will also closely monitor unnecessary movement in the vicinity of Adiala Jail. The security arrangements will be supervised by the SP Saddar and DSP Saddar, the sources said.
