Please refer to the attached Infographic. SITUATION UPDATE Early on 11 October 2026, a major avalanche and glacier-related landslide between Chamar Himal and Syerangi Himal in Ward 6, Chumanubri rural municipality, triggered a flash flood down the Budhi Gandaki. Because of its exceptionally high mud content, the flood behaved as a viscous mudflow. The worst damage was downstream, particularly in Jagat, where several buildings and infrastructure were hit; permanent bridges over the Soti Khola and the Budhi Gandaki River were also affected. UNOSAT’s analysis of a Sentinel-2 image taken the same morning maps the mud and flood deposits from the possible trigger area along the river. The Rasuwa flood of 26 August is shown for context.
