Naval chief reviews SEASPARK drill

KARACHI: Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf visited various Pakistan Navy units at sea and in the Creeks Area to review the conduct of Exercise SEASPARK 2026, according to a Pakistan Navy statement issued on Sunday. The exercise has been under way since September 1 and is described by the Pakistan Navy as a major maritime exercise conducted biennially to rehearse the full spectrum of maritime operations. According to the Directorate General Public Relations (Pakistan Navy), the Exercise SEASPARK provides an opportunity to demonstrate the Navy’s operational preparedness and its ability to rapidly transition from peacetime deployments to wartime operations. The Navy said the 2026 exercise is being conducted under the overarching framework of Operations in Information Environment (OIEs) in line with the changing character of warfare. The exercise also features the manifestation of Multi-Domain Operations and extensive use of unmanned systems, which the Navy identified as key features of this year’s exercise. During his visits, Admiral Naveed Ashraf interacted with personnel participating in the exercise and reviewed their activities. The Naval Chief expressed satisfaction with the professional performance, morale and operational readiness of the personnel participating in SEASPARK 2026, while commending their resolve and commitment to maintaining operational preparedness at sea.
