ISLAMABAD: Khurram Javaid Mughal, Chief Executive Officer of Mughal Iron & Steel Industries Limited (Mughal Steel) is elected unopposed as the Chairman of the Pakistan Association of Large Steel Producers (PALSP) following the Association’s elections. Khurram Mughal is a prominent figure in Pakistan’s steel industry and heads Mughal Steels which is one of the country’s leading steel companies. His unopposed election reflects the confidence and trust reposed in his leadership by members of the Association. The newly elected Chairman thanked the outgoing Chairman, Javed Iqbal Malik, for playing appreciable role for PALSP as well as for the betterment of steel sector. Upon his election, Khurram Mughal said that PALSP would continue to work closely with the government, as well as, all relevant stakeholders to strengthen Pakistan’s formal steel industry and contribute to sustainable economic growth. Mughal also expressed his commitment to promoting the interests of the documented/ compliant steel sector while supporting policies that encourage investment, technological advancement, capacity utilisation and competitiveness. The newly elected Chairman said PALSP would continue to engage constructively with policymakers and regulatory authorities to address challenges confronting the steel industry and present practical recommendations for its growth. On the eve of his election all members of PALSP whole heartedly congratulated Khurram Mughal and expressed confidence that his leadership would further strengthen PALSP’s role as an effective representative body of Pakistan’s large, formal and quality-conscious steel producers. The other office-bearers who were elected for the term of 2026-28 include Ali Ahmed, CEO, Rasheed Steels as Senior Vice Chairman and Hasan Farid, CEO, Pak Steel as Vice Chairman.
