Mother, three children found dead in Lahore; poisoning suspected

A woman and her three children were found dead at their home in Lahore’s Valencia area on Friday, with police suspecting they died after consuming poisoned food. Police identified the deceased as 40-year-old Aleena, 16-year-old Rehan, 11-year-old Arshia, and 9-year-old Arsal. The children included two boys and a girl. According to police sources, preliminary investigations suggest the children were allegedly poisoned through food, leading to their deaths. Investigators suspect the woman first served the poisoned food to her children before consuming it herself. Police and forensic teams reached the scene after being alerted and began collecting evidence. The bodies were shifted to a hospital for post-mortem examination. Police said investigations were underway to determine the exact circumstances and motive behind the incident, adding that all aspects of the case were being examined. Authorities have not yet confirmed the cause of death, and the findings of the post-mortem and forensic analysis are awaited.
