MNA Dr Mahreen Bhutto launches breast cancer awareness campaign at Gims

SUKKUR – Member of the National Assembly Dr. Mahreen Razia Bhutto visited the Department of Oncology at Gambat Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS) and launched a special awareness campaign regarding Breast Cancer in women here on Sunday. Dr. Mahreen Bhutto was warmly received by Director GIMS Dr. Raheem Bux Bhatti. Head of Department Oncology Dr. Syed Muhammad Sibtain Shah, Consultant Oncologist Dr. Muhammad Saleh Chandio and Consultant Radiologist Dr. Hira Hanif Malik were also present on the occasion. Director GIMS Dr. Raheem Bux Bhatti briefed the honourable MNA about the state-of-the-art oncology services at GIMS, including advanced diagnostic facilities, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and the latest Siemens Mammography Unit – providing world-class cancer care completely Free of Cost. Bilawal vows greater constitutional rights for AJK During the visit, Dr. Sibtain Shah shared alarming figures regarding the high prevalence of breast cancer among women, emphasizing the need for early diagnosis. Speaking on the occasion and in a public awareness message from the Department of Oncology, MNA Dr. Mahreen Bhutto said that she is thankful to Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and the Health Minister, Government of Sindh for supporting GIMS. Today we have started an awareness campaign from our home district. GIMS has the latest mammography machines. As figures shared by Dr. Sibtain show, breast cancer cases are very high. I appeal to all women above the age of 35 years to get at least one mammography screening done, so that if there is any sign of cancer, it can be diagnosed at an early stage and lives can be saved. ” She further announced that Mammography screening and complete cancer treatment is 100% free at GIMS Gambat. “I appeal to all men and women to bring their mothers, sisters, and daughters to GIMS for timely check-up and screening so that we can save the life of a mother, a sister, a daughter, ” she added.
