Medical experts call for promoting clinical research

LAHORE: Medical experts have stressed that the advancement of medical science and success in the healthcare field depend on the continuous promotion of clinical research and trials on a regular basis. These views were expressed by medical specialists while addressing a workshop organized under the auspices of PGMI / AMC / LGH. The primary objective of the workshop was to enhance the research capabilities of faculty members and postgraduate trainees in line with modern requirements. Vice Principal Prof. Nadrat Sohail, MS LGH Prof. Dr. Faryad Hussain, workshop organizer Prof. Tayyaba Gul Malik along with a large number of faculty members and doctors, attended the event. Guest of honour Prof. Dr. Muhammad Asif Naeem (PhD Molecular Biology) shared insights from his extensive experience in genomics, gene therapy and medical research. He elaborated on the fundamental principles of clinical research and trials, modern research methodologies and the importance of adhering to international standards. Prof. Dr. Tayyaba Gul Malik stated that the true success of any educational leader is not confined to the achievements of their own tenure but lies in ensuring that their positive and sustainable initiatives continue to progress in the future. She highlighted the need to further advance the academic and research endeavours initiated by former Principal Prof. Dr. Muhammad Farooq Afzal. Vice Principal Prof. Dr. Nadrat Sohail thanked the guest of honour and all participants. She reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to continuously promoting evidence-based medical education and research activities so that students and faculty are provided with the best opportunities for quality research.
