KARACHI: Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation (KW&SC), in coordination with Pakistan Rangers, uncovered a major water theft network involving the illegal extraction of potable water from one of Karachi’s main supply lines. Separately, the water utility announced the restoration of 40 million gallons per day (MGD) water supply from the Dhabeji pumping station. According to KW&SC officials, the joint operation was launched after intelligence reports revealed the existence of an illegal underground network siphoning water from a 33-inch diameter main supply line known as the New SBL/CTM line beneath Lasbela Bridge.
