Description Violent armed conflicts startes at dawn today in Zawiya, involving two armed groups and local authorities. This incident mirrors the conflicts that took place on Friday, 01 May 2026, and their recurrence within a short time frame reinforces concerns over a potential escalation and repeated outbreaks of violence in the coming days. The rapidly deteriorating security situation continues to severely restrict safe access and data collection, making it difficult to determine the full scale of impact. Nevertheless, confirmed information indicates: 1 fatality 1 injured individual 82 people forcibly displaced from their homes, with evacuation and immediate assistance provided by Libyan Red Crescent (LRC) volunteers Of grave concern, humanitarian volunteers were directly targeted by live gunfire while carrying out their duties, significantly increasing operational risks. This hostile environment has critically hampered the ability of humanitarian actors to deliver life‐saving assistance and conduct essential field assessments.
