Karachi may receive thunderstorms and light rain from September 14 to 16, with occasional gaps, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) said on Friday. In its weather forecast, the Met Office said a monsoon low was lying over the northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Odisha coast and was likely to move westward. Under its influence, dust-thunderstorm rain with a few moderate to isolated heavy falls was expected in Tharparkar, Umerkot, Mirpurkhas, Badin, Thatta, Sujawal and Tando Muhammad Khan from the evening of September 13 to 16. Light to moderate dust-thunderstorm rain was also forecast in Sanghar, Khairpur, Hyderabad, Tando Allahyar, Matiari, Shaheed Benazirabad and Jamshoro from September 14 to 16, with occasional gaps. For Karachi, the PMD forecasts a minimum temperature of 25°C and a maximum of 27°C in its three-day outlook from Friday to Sunday.
