Situation Report • BNPB reported the following IDP figures as of August 24 at 09: 00 WIB: • Damage was recorded to 502 educational facilities, 396 houses of worship, 504 office buildings, one Bulog warehouse, 10 irrigation facilities, 39 public facilities, 78 road locations, one market, and 13 bridges. • The Ministry of Health’s situation report as of August 24 at 07: 30 WIB recorded 5, 931 cases of acute respiratory infection (ARI/ISPA) across Manggarai, Sikka, Nagekeo, West Manggarai and East Manggarai, as well as 27 cases of rabies-risk animal bites in Nagekeo, Ngada and East Manggarai. The report also noted that stocks of medicines and medical consumables (BMHP) in East Manggarai were beginning to run low. • At its first coordination meeting on August 22, the Sub-Cluster for the Protection of Older People, Persons with Disabilities and Other At-Risk Groups (LDR) discussed accessibility gaps at centralized displacement sites. These barriers had led many persons with disabilities to stay in self-managed tents near their homes or with host families. The LDR Sub-Cluster also emphasized the importance of rapid inclusion assessments led by organizations of persons with disabilities (OPDs) to identify specific needs, including assistive devices and adapted hygiene items. • The LDR Sub-Cluster also highlighted reports of deaths in Nagekeo that were not directly caused by earthquake injuries but were associated with shock and acute diarrhoea, underscoring the importance of post-disaster health management. It also raised concern that some people may have acquired disabilities as a result of earthquake-related injuries but remain unrecorded because of limited road access or because injured people have not yet reached health services. • The Health Services Sub-Cluster in Sikka Regency reported on August 24 a need for weighing scales, thermometers, privacy screens (sampiran), and nebulizers.
