LAHORE – Hajra Sohail, M. Yahya, Shayan Afridi and M. Aayan emerged as the standout performers as the Bank of Punjab (BoP) Junior National Tennis Championship 2026 concluded at the Sports Board Punjab Tennis Academy, Nishtar Park Sports Complex, Lahore. Hajra Sohail produced a remarkable performance by capturing two titles. She clinched the girls U-18 crown with a commanding 6-3, 6-0 victory over Bismel Zia before adding the girls U-14 title by defeating Khadija Khalil 4-2, 4-1. In the boys U-18 final, M. Yahya displayed excellent form to outclass Hamza Ali Rizwan 6-3, 6-1 and secure the championship title. Shayan Afridi of Peshawar also impressed, winning the boys U-14 title with a convincing 4-2, 4-0 triumph over M. Muaz. M. Aayan enjoyed a successful outing, claiming the boys U-12 singles title after defeating M. Faizan 4-2, 4-2. He also partnered M. Muaz to win the Boys U-14 doubles title with a 4-2, 4-1 victory over Daniyal Abdullah and Ahmad Fareed Yawar. Other winners included Shahnoor Umer, who captured the girls U-12 title by overcoming Eman Shahbaz 4-2, 1-4, 4-1. In the boys U-12 doubles final, Salaar Khan and M. Faizan defeated Riyan Omer Khalil and M. Daniyal 4-0, 4-1, while Mustafa Zia claimed the boys/girls U-10 title with a dominant 6-0 win against Wali Abdullah. Director General Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi graced the closing ceremony as chief guest, while BoP Chief Internal Auditor Syed Rehan attended as guest of honour. The chief guest distributed prizes among the winners and reiterated the Punjab Sports Department’s commitment to promoting grassroots sports and nurturing young talent through regular competitions.
