Description During the early hours of 12 July 2026, exceptionally heavy rainfall triggered flash floods and mudflows in Telavi Municipality, Kakheti Region. The Telaviskhevi River overflowed its banks after intense precipitation, causing widespread flooding across urban areas, significant damage to public infrastructure, residential buildings, businesses, and agricultural land. The event also generated large volumes of mud, rocks, and woody debris that overwhelmed sections of the river channel.
