Heavy rainfall and the overflow of rivers and drainage systems resulted in flooding across selected communities in Greater Accra and other affected regions. The impacts were most severe in communities located along riverbanks, low-lying settlements and areas with blocked drainage systems. In response, the Inter-Agency Working Group on Emergencies (IAWGE), with support from IOM through the Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM), coordinated a rapid needs assessment to generate timely evidence on the scale of impact, displacement, service disruptions and immediate humanitarian needs. The assessment aimed to support government and humanitarian partners with a consolidated snapshot of affected populations, priority needs and sector-specific concerns to guide immediate response planning, resource allocation and follow-up assessments.
