Meta’s Facebook and Instagram platforms experienced outages affecting thousands of users in several countries overnight from Sunday into Monday, with users reporting difficulties accessing the services, according to Gulf News. Outage-tracking website Downdetector showed thousands of reports of problems with both platforms in the United States, along with reports from users in other countries. According to Reuters, more than 17, 000 reports of Facebook outages and over 5, 000 reports involving Instagram had been recorded, based on Downdetector data. The website tracks service disruptions by aggregating outage reports from multiple sources.
