ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister (DPM/FM) Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar held a series of high-level telephone conversations and meetings Tuesday with his counterparts from Saudi Arabia and Egypt, as well as the Chinese Ambassador in Pakistan, said Foreign Office in a statement. The discussions focused on regional stability, with international partners praising Pakistan’s efforts to facilitate peace, with encouraging dialogue between the U. S. and Iran. All parties reaffirmed their commitment to close cooperation and diplomatic engagement to ensure lasting security in the region Dar spoke with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud. The two leaders discussed the latest regional developments and emphasized the importance of dialogue and engagement for achieving lasting peace and stability. Saudi FM reiterated the Kingdom’s support for Pakistan’s continued efforts in this regard. The two leaders agreed to remain in close contact. Earlier on Tuesday, Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Jiang Zaidong called on Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar. Discussions focused on latest regional developments. Amb Zaidong conveyed China’s full support for and appreciation of Pakistan’s continued efforts to facilitate engagement between U. S. and Iran for sustained peace and stability in the region and beyond. DPM/FM reaffirmed the Pakistan–China All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership, underscored the strength of bilateral ties, and emphasized the importance of sustained high-level exchanges between the two countries. DPM Dar also telephoned Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty to discuss the latest regional developments.
