Dar expresses grief over loss of life in Saudi Arabia

ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on Sunday held a telephonic conversation with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud during which the two leaders discussed the evolving regional situation and reaffirmed their commitment to peace. According to a statement issued here by the Foreign Office, Dar conveyed heartfelt condolences on behalf of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, the government, and the people of Pakistan over the tragic helicopter crash in Saudi Arabia that claimed 14 lives. Prince Faisal thanked Pakistan for its message of sympathy and appreciated the brotherly gesture extended by the country’s leadership and people. The two foreign ministers also held an in-depth discussion on recent regional developments and expressed deep concern over the evolving situation. Dar reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to promoting lasting peace and stability in the region through continued implementation of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Iran and the United States. During the conversation, Prince Faisal informed Dar of his intention to visit Pakistan at the earliest mutually convenient opportunity.
