LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif on Friday welcomed the federal government’s decision to reduce petroleum prices and directed the authorities concerned to take immediate steps to ensure a corresponding reduction in passenger transport and goods carriage fares. Expressing gratitude to the public for their support during challenging circumstances, the chief minister said the benefits of the reduction in petroleum prices must be passed on to the people without delay. The CM Maryam Nawaz praised Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and his team for the significant decrease in petroleum prices, saying the premier had fulfilled his commitment to reduce fuel prices following an improvement in the regional situation.
