CJ FCC stresses need for environmental protection

ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice (CJ) of the Federal Constitutional Court (FCC), Amin-ud-Din Khan, emphasised that environmental protection is not only a global necessity but also a constitutional and moral obligation, asking citizens to adopt environmentally responsible practices at their homes and in daily lives. The FCC CJ noted that safeguarding the environment is intrinsically linked to public welfare, justice, and the rule of law, and that such occasions serve as a reminder of our shared responsibilities— whether working from offices or from home. ?He said that the FCC remains committed to supporting national and global efforts aimed at combating climate change and preserving ecological balance, in line with Pakistan’s environmental goals and international commitments. The FCC marked Earth Day by reaffirming its commitment to environmental stewardship and highlighting the importance of protecting natural resources for present and future generations. In line with this year’s global theme, the Court emphasised the collective responsibility of institutions and individuals to adopt sustainable practices and promote environmental awareness.
